About the event

Check in at Lakeside Nature Center and look for our purple "Team Naturespace" sign. We'll relocate to remove bush honeysuckle or pick up litter washed down the Fox Hollow Creek. No matter what you choose as your task, your hands are helping hands. Thank you for your care.

Wear closed-toe shoes with tread, thick pants and layers for the unpredictable weather.

Gloves, trash bags and shovels will be provided (as well as donuts and hot dogs for those interested.)

In 1991 a group of forward thinking citizens formed Friends of Lakeside Nature Center Stream Team #175 and planned a river cleanup. Project Blue River Rescue continues today as the largest one day clean up in Missouri, removing dozens of tons of trash from the Blue River the first weekend in April of each year. Thousands of volunteers meet the Blue River up close at this river cleanup.

This event has a group. You’re welcome to join the group once you register for the event.
